Black Friday is a time of excitement and value: two qualities at the heart of Do Amore. We believe in offering maximum value and celebrating life’s most special moments every day!
And that is exactly why we are running our Black Friday offer now, and not in Black Friday week. There are three big reasons why I do not recommend purchasing a ring on Black Friday week itself:
- Higher Diamond pricing: Year after year, I have tracked Black Friday pricing and even after the coupons and discounts that stores offer, consumers are not saving money on diamonds. Demand skyrockets that weekend, and suppliers and cutters increase pricing ahead of it. Historically, diamond prices are about 7% higher around Black Friday.
- Lower Engagement Ring Setting Quality: Some stores sell on Black Friday what they usually do in one month, and every order needs to arrive by Christmas Eve. Despite best efforts, this absolutely does affect quality control.
- Mark-up to mark down: Many jewelers raise prices in the weeks before Black Friday just so they can show a big discount on the day, so it’s kind of pointless anyways.
