4 things to know when considering a pear cut rose gold engagement ring!

    1. Pear Cut Shape: Pear diamonds offer a distinct look, especially when set in a rose gold engagement ring! Famous for their single pointed end and rounded bottom, pear cut diamonds exude romantic warmth. However, this unique facet setup also means there are special quality features to look out for! When selecting a pear cut diamond in rose gold, you should always make sure there it is symmetrical. In other words, imagine a vertical line down the center of your stone. Now compare the right to the left side. Do they exactly match in both outline and sparkle? Is the shape pretty and not bulky? That’s what you want!
    2. Fisheyes and Weird Reflections: Another big concern is to make sure your stone does not have an ugly “fisheye” at its center. Fisheyes are weird circular reflections in the belly of the stone. They create distracting lines and detract from your sparkle. Learn more about how to avoid a fisheye here.
    3. Diamond Color: Opting for rose gold for your pear cut engagement ring is a lovely decision! This is because rose gold can hide some warmth in your diamond. And, because warmer colored diamonds tend to be less expensive, this offers a great value. To capitalize on this, look at 1ct+ stones in the D-G color range. H colored stones will frequently look white in smaller diamonds, too! Just make sure to look closely at the point of your pear to ensure no extra color concentrates there to make it look warmer than it is.
    4. 14k vs. 18k: Do Amore offers both 14k and 18k rose gold for our pear cut engagement rings! We tend to recommend 14k as our standard offering because it is both pure and durable. It is also more pink than 18k gold (which has a more mellow hue). 18k gold, on the other hand, is technically more pure. Some people love this idea! Just know that 18k requires a bit more delicate handling due to it being softer. Either way, you can’t go wrong! If you’d like 18k rose gold, just let us know in our Order Notes section during checkout! It is a minor $100 upgrade.
