FAQs
D provides absolute colorlessness in a kite shape. The four-sided geometric face with its asymmetric angles has large, open facets that can show body color somewhat more openly than heavily faceted brilliant cuts. D eliminates any color concern, ensuring the bold directional shape appears ice-white across every facet.
Kite shapes have large, open facets similar to hexagons. The asymmetric four-sided geometry can show body color slightly more than heavily faceted brilliants. At D, no body color exists to reveal. The color sensitivity makes higher color grades slightly more impactful in this unique shape.
VS1 is recommended. The large, open facets can show clarity more openly. VS1 guarantees eye-clean quality through the directional geometric face. D/VS1 creates a premium kite with clean, precise angular character.
The difference between D and E color is virtually impossible to detect with the naked eye in a kite cut, though step-cut facets can show color slightly more readily. Once set in a ring, both grades appear equally white. Choosing E color over D in a carat kite can free up budget for a better cut or larger stone.
