FAQs
G is good. Two carat lab grown diamonds are a wonderful spot. At 2 carats, G's warmth may be slightly more visible through the larger antique facets. In yellow gold, invisible. In white gold, most will not notice. When looking for 2 carat old mine ovals, look between 1.9 to 2.2 carats.
G at 2 carats may show very faint warmth through the larger antique facets, slightly more than at 1 carat. In warm metals, completely invisible. The vintage character is maintained.
VS1 or VS2. G/VS1 with minimal bowtie at 2 carats delivers the best vintage oval value at this wonderful above-average size.
The difference between G and H color is very difficult to detect with the naked eye in a old mine oval cut, though step-cut facets can show color slightly more readily. Once set in a ring, both grades appear equally white. Choosing H color over G in a 2 carat old mine oval can free up budget for a better cut or larger stone.
