FAQs
D at 2 carats provides absolute colorlessness through the larger antique facets. Two carat lab grown diamonds are a wonderful spot. At 2 carats, the old mine oval's vintage facets show color slightly more. D eliminates concern. G faces up white for most. When looking for 2 carat old mine ovals, look between 1.9 to 2.2 carats.
D looks ice-white through the larger antique facets across the impressive elongated vintage face. No body color at either end. The vintage sparkle appears clean and crisp.
VS1 or VS2. The larger antique facets at 2 carats are somewhat more transparent. VS1 provides extra assurance. Check for minimal bowtie at this larger vintage size.
The difference between D and E color is virtually impossible to detect with the naked eye in a old mine oval cut, though step-cut facets can show color slightly more readily. Once set in a ring, both grades appear equally white. Choosing E color over D in a 2 carat old mine oval can free up budget for a better cut or larger stone.
