Carat
Lab Created Diamond
Though most think of "Carat" in terms of size, it is actually a measure of the weight of the diamond. Sometimes you can save money by finding diamonds that are just under the carat weight of what you want (example, look for .95-.99 carats instead of 1.00).
Cut is the most important variable and directly correlates to how much sparkle your stone will have. The highest rating the GIA gives is "excellent" and only to round shapes. Together with our suppliers, we assign cut grades to fancy shaped stones to help you compare stones.
D-F color diamonds have no color and are "ice-white".
G-H color diamonds generally look colorless unless you have a colorless stone next to them.
I-J color diamonds have a very slight warmth to them which isn't usually noticeable in diamonds less than 0.75 carats.
Clarity is rating of how many imperfections a diamond has, and how big they are. For most shapes, diamonds up to VS2 are "eye-clean" (no imperfections visible to the naked eye) however in many cases even SI1-SI2 diamonds are eye clean. If you want to make sure your diamond is eye-clean, contact us with the diamond you like, or look at our recommended diamonds.
