FAQs
H color sits in the near-colorless range with a very faint warmth. At 3 carats, H's subtle warmth may be slightly more perceptible than at smaller sizes due to the larger face-up area. However, in most settings and lighting conditions, H color appears clean and white, especially when paired with warm metals.
Not for most buyers. H color at 3 carats shows minimal warmth in everyday conditions. In yellow or rose gold, H is completely invisible. In white gold under bright light, very color-sensitive eyes might detect the faintest warm tone. For the significant savings versus higher grades, H is a strong practical choice.
Yellow gold is the safest bet: the warm metal absorbs any trace warmth into a cohesive look. Rose gold also works beautifully. White gold or platinum paired with H at 3 carats is fine for most people, with only the most color-sensitive eyes noticing a faint difference from colorless grades.
A 3 carat the benchmark shape, though some fancy shapes appear larger at equal carat weight. With H color (near-colorless), only appears warm when compared directly with D or E under ideal lighting. 3 carat natural diamonds are well above the average and an incredible look, without entering the ostentatious territory. When looking for 3 carat natural diamonds, look between 2.9 to 3.3 carats so that you give yourself the best selection which will help find the best value.
