Pick a Lab Diamond

FAQs

D provides absolute colorlessness in a hexagon lab created diamond. The six-sided geometric shape has a large, flat face that can show body color somewhat more openly than tightly faceted brilliant cuts. D eliminates any color concern, ensuring the bold geometric outline appears ice-white across every facet of the distinctive six-sided face.
Hexagons have a large, flat face-up area with fewer facets than traditional brilliant cuts. This can make body color slightly more visible at near-colorless grades. At D, there is no body color to reveal. The color sensitivity of hexagons makes higher color grades slightly more impactful than in heavily faceted shapes.
VS1 is the safer recommendation for hexagons. The large, flat facets with fewer facets than brilliant cuts can show clarity more openly. VS2 may be eye-clean but should be evaluated individually. The six-sided geometric face is somewhat more transparent than crushed-ice patterns.
The difference between D and E color is virtually impossible to detect with the naked eye in a hexagon cut, though step-cut facets can show color slightly more readily. Once set in a ring, both grades appear equally white. Choosing E color over D in a carat hexagon can free up budget for a better cut or larger stone.
