FAQs
D provides absolute colorlessness eliminating double-tip concerns, but many vintage enthusiasts prefer G or H in yellow gold. One carat lab grown diamonds are a great starting point. D creates a modern interpretation of the antique elongated cut.
VS1 or VS2. The larger antique facets are somewhat more transparent. Both work well with D for a premium antique-style elongated stone with V-prong tip protection.
D looks ice-white through the vintage facets from tip to tip. The antique sparkle appears clean and crisp. No body color at either pointed end.
At 1 carats, a D color old mine marquise is colorless, meaning it is absolutely colorless with no detectable warmth. Only detectable by trained gemologists with master stones. In white gold or platinum, D color faces up clean and bright. In yellow or rose gold, any faint body color becomes imperceptible against the warm metal. The old mine marquise cut's antique brilliant facets create elegant reflections of the metal color.
