FAQs
D provides absolute colorlessness but many vintage enthusiasts prefer G or H in yellow gold for period-authentic character. One carat lab grown diamonds are a great starting point. D creates a modern interpretation of the antique round cut. E, F, or G delivers the same visual result for most observers at a lower price.
VS1 or VS2. The larger vintage facets are somewhat more transparent. Both work well with D for a premium antique-style round stone with fire-rich character.
D looks ice-white through the fire-rich flower-pattern facets. The vintage sparkle appears clean and crisp with no body color. D creates a modern, premium interpretation of the historic old European cut.
The difference between D and E color is virtually impossible to detect with the naked eye in a old euro cut, though step-cut facets can show color slightly more readily. Once set in a ring, both grades appear equally white. Choosing E color over D in a 1 carat old euro can free up budget for a better cut or larger stone.
