How did it all begin?
We met in law school at UC Berkeley! Initially, we were just good friends and would meet up at the dog park and go hiking with our dogs. As we began spending more and more time together, it became obvious to us both that we wanted something more.
When did you know your partner was The One?
The day Eliza brought me home to meet her parents was the moment I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. It was so easy to envision a wonderful life with her by my side. She is so easy to love.
What made you choose Do Amore?
I always knew I wanted to propose with a lab-grown diamond, and when I stumbled across Do Amore, it seemed too good to be true! Do Amore’s values matched my own, and I was impressed by its mission to provide clean water to those in need. I was able to customize a beautiful engagement ring that Eliza absolutely loves.

How did you propose?
I proposed to Eliza at a beach in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Traveling with the ring and keeping it a secret was no easy feat, but it was well worth it. We had visited the beach earlier that day, and I suggested coming back to watch the sunset. Little did she know, the photographer was sitting on the beach, waiting for me to get on my knee. Evident by the expression on her face, she was totally shocked! It was one of the best days of our lives. Less than two months later, Eliza proposed to me with the stone from her grandmother’s engagement ring!
What makes you most excited about your future together?
Every day with Eliza is magical; I don’t take any moment for granted. I am so excited for all that’s to come (hopefully rescuing more dogs).
Have you decided on a wedding style or theme yet?
Our wedding will take place in September of 2024 and will have an elegant, rustic theme. I can’t wait to celebrate our love with the people who mean the most to us.
